Transport in Utrecht

What kind of transport in Utrecht can you use to see the city and to go to work? You can get to and around Utrecht by public transport, car of bike. Once you have reached Utrecht we suggest you to park your car and to rent a bike or take a bus. The apartments of H.C.A are located in the centre and they are easy to reach.

Public transport in Utrecht

As Utrecht is the centre of The Netherlands, all trains stop in Utrecht. From Schiphol Airport it is only 30 minutes by train. The train station is located in the centre of Utrecht, so you can easily go to your apartment by foot, bike or bus.

If you are only here for a couple of days and you want to travel around the city of Utrecht, you can buy a 1, 3 or 5 day ticket. You can buy your day ticket at the U-OV service point in the hall of Utrecht Central Station.

Are you in Utrecht for a longer period and do you want to use the public transport in Utrecht or even in the whole country? Buy an OV-chipcard. This is a card which you put money on, so you can use any type of public transport in The Netherlands. Parking in Utrecht

Utrecht is easy to reach by car, but once you are in the city the car is not the best means of transport in Utrecht. Therefore, we advise you to park your car at one of Utrecht Park & Rides.

This is much cheaper than parking in the city centre. The costs of a P&R are €5,00 per day and from here you can easily reach the centre by bus.

Parking garages in Utrecht

Environmental zone

We would like to warn you of the introduction of the environmental zone in the centre of Utrecht. Diesel cars manufactured prior to 2001 are no longer allowed inside the zone and you will be fined if you do.

Utrecht by bike

The easiest and most beautiful way to get around in Utrecht is by bike. You can rent a bike for around €7,50 per day and you can park it for free all over town.
