The Houthaven used to be one of the most important trading locations of the world and has now been turned into a new residential and luxurious area with warehouse-like buildings, showing a varying range of facades. By car you will find yourself on the A10 quickly. Sloterdijk Station as well as Amsterdam Central Station can easily be reached. Two buses stop at Houthavenkade: bus 48 and 22. If you prefer to cycle to the stations it will take you less than ten minutes to reach.
